Tufnol Announces Integration of Portfolio into Diamorph Gloucester Site, a Global Centre of Excellence
Integration into the Diamorph Group
What we have achieved so far
The Diamorph Group is now at an advanced stage of realising its ambition to create world-class manufacturing capabilities across three Global Centres of Excellence.
Following a multi-million-pound investment into plant, equipment and people, the project to establish Gloucester site as the headquarters of the Diamorph Composite & Polymer Material (CPM) division is now complete.
Amongst many notable achievements, these major investments have helped secure:
Green certified
New ISO 14001 certification and part A2 permit
Security first
Enhanced site security and Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation
Innovation hub
New innovation centre
Local growth
Creation of over 200 new skilled jobs in our local community.
Quality assured
Recertification of our Quality Management through our ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D quality accreditation.
Expanded capacity
New machine capacity in impregnation, pressing, and machining processes
Now, we are more capable than ever to deliver our Diamorph CPM customers a simple and secure supply chain solution. We can achieve this through an unrivalled level of vertically integrated manufacturing process, supported by continuous investment into research and development.
What we are doing next
Following the successful integration of the Tenmat Wear portfolio into our Gloucester HQ, our focus has now shifted to the integration of the prestigious Tufnol portfolio. This move will complete the creation of the Global Centre of Excellence for the Diamorph CPM division in Gloucester, now home to Permali, Tenmat Wear, Tufnol, Tuftane and Railko.
The project is well underway, with the prepreg transfer already complete. We are pushing forward at pace with our plans to transfer other key manufacturing processes, including pressing and machining.
During this transition, Tufnol products will retain all the same design, materials, manufacturing methodologies and specifications, and will be fully supported by the same quality and customer service processes our customers have come to expect.
These changes underpin the Diamorph Group’s vision to support the long-term sustainable manufacture of brands like Tufnol, providing a modern manufacturing facility that fully meets the needs of our customers while complying with evolving environmental legislation. This commitment future-proofs our ambition to develop advanced materials that meet the challenges of tomorrow’s world.

In the short term it seems inevitable there will be some disruption to production plans as we get up to speed. We will endeavour to minimise any disruption to customer deliveries, and if such a situation arises, we will of course do our best to keep you updated and recover any delays where possible. In the short term we may be offering longer than usual lead times to build in some contingency, and if our customers can provide as much notice as possible with delivery expectations this will help with managing any disruption.
Tufnol orders going forward will be placed with Permali Gloucester Limited. The date that Permali will start to process orders for Tufnol customers will be confirmed in due course. At this point we estimate this will be April 2025, until this date is confirmed please continue to place orders with Tufnol as normal.
