Types of Thermoplastic: Acetals (Polyacetal POM)
Hard, rigid and resilient with good impact strength. Low co-efficient of friction. Wear resistance is less than nylon but has lower water absorption and better dimensional stability. Types of Thermoplastic: Acrylic (Polymethyl Methacrylate) PMMA
Weather-resistant cast phenolic thermoplastic. Low water absorption. Good optical properties for signs, nameplates and precision components. Colour:- Various, also Clear and Opal. Due to the weather resistant properties, PMMA is one of the more popular industrial engineering plastics compared to other types of thermoplastic.

Types of Thermoplastic: NYLONS (Polyamide) PA
Types of Nylon Available:
Nylon Type 6 extruded
General purpose grade phenolic thermoplastic. Tough and mechanically strong. Good impact and wear resistance. Colour:- Natural. Very versatile as an industrial engineering plastic.

Nylon Type 6 cast
Improved hardness and stiffness of the phenolic thermoplastic. High compressive and flexural strengths. Colour:- White

Nylon Type 6 cast+ MoS2 (Molybdenum Disulphide)

Oil Filled Nylon
Self-lubricating nylon with non-toxic lubricant built-in during casting. This lubricant becomes an integral part of the material and will not spin, drain or dry out. Conventional nylons are renowned industrial engineering plastics with excellent bearing materials but the oil filled version offers a lower coefficient of friction, higher load carrying capacity, less stick-slip and longer life. It can outlast conventional or MoS2 filled nylons by a factor of five or more.

PEEK (Polyetheretherketone)
Extremely high performing types of thermoplastic for use up to 250°C or above. It has good creep properties, with excellent bearing performance and excellent chemical, hydrolysis and radiation resistance. Colour: Black

PETP (Polyethylene terephthalate)
A hard rigid phenolic thermoplastic with a low coefficient of friction and high creep resistance. Wear performance similar to extruded nylon types 6 and 66. Comparable to acetal and other types of thermoplastic in its dimensional stability, chemical resistance and low water absorption. Colour: Cream

Polycarbonate PC
Extremely high impact strength and excellent transmission of light. Good mechanical and insulating qualities, a key quality of industrial engineering plastics. Low water absorption. Colour: Clear (transparent and opal)

Polyethylene PE
Types of Polyethylene Available:
Type 3OO-HDPE (High Density-PE)
Lightweight, with negligible water absorption and non-stick properties. Low coefficient of friction, good abrasion and chemical resistance compared to other types of thermoplastic. Good mechanical and electrical properties. Colour: Natural and Black

Type 500-HMW-PE (High molecular weight-PE)

Type 1OOO-UHMW-PE (Ultra high molecular weight-PE)

Polypropylene PP
Versatile extruded material with high softening temperature. Excellent resistance to many chemicals and steam sterilisation compared to some other types of thermoplastics. Machines well, an essential trait for industrial engineering plastics. Colour: White, Beige

PTFE (Polytetrafluoro-ethylene)
