Asp brand TUFNOL dies are used on this plastics extrusion machine by V&N Hartley Ltd. The TUFNOL dies eliminate ‘pick-up’ and provide a thermal barrier which minimises heat loss from the hot P.V.C. in the extruder barrel to the cold water on the extrusion side of the die. Easily machined to accurate limits, these dies provide an excellent example of how the properties of one plastics material can be employed to shape another.
